Nervous System Nourishment at Goldenseal Skincare

This past week, I decided to take a trip to Morro Bay to finally meet Tarren Brooks of Goldenseal Skincare in person.

I was first introduced to Tarren during the early days of COVID while enrolling in my Herbalism Studies through Herbal Academy. At the time, she was a source of support and guidance, answering every question I had with such grace, patience, and kindness. Ever since then, I had hoped our paths would cross in person. There was something about the way she cared for others, her gentle presence and grounded energy, that I felt my body would naturally resonate with.

That opportunity finally arrived when I booked a facial with her, and the experience exceeded anything I expected. It was far more than skincare. Tarren's work is rooted in the belief that healthy skin begins with a regulated nervous system and a deeper connection to oneself. Throughout the treatment, I felt genuinely cared for, not only through the customized, plant based skincare she thoughtfully selected for my skin's needs, but through the way she created a space for rest, presence, and healing.

With over 20 years of experience, Tarren brings together her background in herbalism, nutrition, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, Reiki, and holistic skincare. Her facials are completely individualized, incorporating facial massage, lymphatic support, herbal treatments, and education around nutrition, lifestyle, and daily self care rituals. Every aspect of her work reflects her philosophy of treating the whole person, not just the skin.

I left with glowing skin, yes, but more importantly, I left feeling regulated, nourished, and deeply connected to myself. Experiences like this remind me that true healing often happens when we feel safe enough to soften.

If you are ever in the Morro Bay area and looking for a practitioner who embodies holistic care in its truest sense, I cannot recommend Tarren enough.
