Taiwan Poured Me a Cup of Presence
Tea culture in Taiwan didn't feel curated or ceremonial for the sake of appearance. It felt like a way of being, an unspoken agreement that the day deserves pauses, that gathering around something warm is reason enough to stay a little longer. No pressure to optimize the experience. No performance. Tea simply existed as a reason to sit, to welcome, to remain.
Silence, Stillness & Tea: A Path to Calm and Mental Clarity
In many traditions around the world, tea isn’t just a drink — it’s a bridge into presence, silence, and self‑awareness. For organizations like Global Tea Hut, tea sits are about more than tasting leaves; they are invitations into stillness, awareness, and mindful living that nourish the mind as deeply as the body.
Returning to Presence
I took a break from qigong for about three months. I still walked consistently, but stepping away from energetic practices felt necessary. I wanted stillness, something closer to Vipassana. I didn’t want to shift or soothe anything. I wanted to sit with all of myself for exactly who I genuinely was.
